To get you there and back, select between 15’ (4.6 m) or 20’ (6.1 m) lengths of 3.5” (8.9 cm) Firestick® drill rod. Consider the 15’ (4.6 m) to minimise your footprint, while selecting 20’ (6.1 m) will offer increased onboard rod carrying capacity.

Angled, open-top vices - Oriented to an angle facing the operator, the Vermeer D100x140 S3 vices offer good operator visibility during rod makeup/breakout. The true open-top design accommodates mud motors and other large tooling. Responsive and powerful clamping and breakout actions can boost cycle time efficiency.

Drilling fluid pump options/fluid course - Increased drilling fluid volume and pressure enhance drilling performance, particularly when back-reaming and in mud motor applications. The larger fluid course reduces pressure drops, helping maintain the flow that is key in mud motor applications.
Excavator-style cab - With considerations to cab design and visibility, the D100x140 S3 cab boosts operator comfort.
Front anchor plate - With the pivot motion, the front anchor plate can be adjusted to the contour of the ground to increase ground contact. As the plate can be removed with relative ease, the Vermeer D100x140 S3 is flexible to varying anchor setups that may range from job to job.
Optional Crane - The onboard crane offers the flexibility to load additional rod boxes and assist the makeup of large tooling while reducing the need for other equipment on the job site.
Optional stake downs - Selecting the optional stake downs can reduce setup times and the need for additional support equipment.
Rack angle range - The four-bar linkage design offers a flexible range of potential entry angles which can be met with the tracks completely on the ground, increasing stability while drilling.
Rack-and-pinion gear - The bolt-on rack design eliminates the need to tediously cut existing welds, then reset and re-weld in the event replacement is needed. Vermeer is the only manufacturer committed to a limited lifetime warranty on rack-and-pinion gears.
Remote ground drive control - The remote can provide operators enhanced visibility in transport, particularly when loading/unloading a trailer.
Service access - Design considerations for service and maintenance, like the swing-out door and flip-up panel, offer easy access to enclosed components.
Stackable rod boxes - With consideration to ease of use and safety, the Vermeer D100x140 S3 stackable rod box design allows additional rod to be loaded via the upper rod box. When matched with the optional onboard crane, no additional support equipment is required to load additional rod.
